I started Chira Designs in 2001 by attending trade shows and working with Reps representing 5 territories across the United States. But that was then, and now I sell wholesale direct to stores, and retail on my own website, and etsy.
My collection is shown in Arts and Craft Galleries across the states, with the trend being in coastal and resort locations.
I enjoy the art of selecting the fabric, feeling the textures, color and graphic elements which emit their own vitality ---and energy of the artist that created that piece.
I make my own patterns and samples to configure the dimensions are most pleasing and functional to my eye --- also keeping my customers' ideas and suggestions in mind.
Everything is cut by hand. I usually begin by stacking my fabric and cutting everything with a rotary cutter. My prep time usually takes as long as the sewing time... it's sort of like painting in that sense.
My work is supported by a local Manufacturer whom I have worked with for over 10 years.
I hope you enjoy my collection. It is always changing, which makes it exciting. But that also means if you see something you like, please do not wait long as it may not be around the next time you visit.
If you have any questions, please feel free to convo me. I usually get back within 24 hours.
Thanks so much for looking.
